This four movement work was written in 1998, and first performed in York, England by the Clover String Quartet in November 2000.
It is dedicated to my wifes mum, Nancy Butler, who has done much to keep all our family in unity. Not least for her husband Frederick George Butler who sadly passed away in 1998. Mum took great care of him for many years, and it is their courage that is a great example to us all.
The music is a tribute to Frederick George Butler, and it is an attempt to reflect some of his personality in music.
