This five movement Flute Sonata was written in 2002. Unlike No 1, it has a piano accompaniment. Although the accompaniment is just as important as the solo part, they are of equal importance. This work has its roots back in Bach and Mozart, but also there are influences from modern day minimalism as a contrast. Quite often there are just three lines, sometimes fugues.
This work is dedicated to Flautist Richard Ingamells.
